Bob Coldeen Bob Coldeen

Bob is the News Director and Sports Director for the Flame Tree Network.

Bob enjoyed a sports-filled life growing up in Lakeland, Florida. His first public broadcast came on a rock'n'roll radio show Sunday evenings representing his high school.

Upon graduating from the University of Florida in 1973, he ventured to Micronesia and Truk (now Chuuk) to help launch special education. In the evenings he had a rock show on the only radio station in the islands.

After four years in the Eastern Caroline Islands, the righthander moved to the Northern Mariana Islands where he played and coached baseball and basketball first on Rota then Saipan. Shortly after arriving upon the ballpark scene, Bob became such a popular announcer with enthusiasm, wit, and knowledge that he was soon asked to be a sportscaster. He said, "Let's play ball" and everyone has been having a ball since December 1993.
